Costa Rica has been voted the world’s happiest country many times and in various indexes over the years.
We at EEF are very lucky to have established a connection with this beautiful country and all it has to offer. In 2014, we came across Earth University who have a wonderful mission that we fully subscribe to: “Prepare leaders with ethical values to contribute to sustainable development and to construct a prosperous and just society”
Each year Earth University offer some life-changing full scholarships (including flights and all cost of living) to students from African countries. Solo, Lidia, and Tsegenesh were our first students to apply in 2015 and they were rewarded full scholarships.
Fast forward a few years, they have just graduated! Not only have they obtained fantastic degrees from a wonderful university, they are also fluent in Spanish and their future is looking very bright indeed.
Six more EEF students are currently studying in Costa Rica and we are already preparing for the next scholarship assessment centre in April 2020 🙂
Without EEF none of these students would have had a chance to finish their education. However, we cannot do our work without the support from individuals who sponsor our students.
